46 Days Until Election Day

There are only 46 days until the election.

What method will you choose to vote this year?

1) Absentee Ballot they are now calling Vote by Mail.
2) In-Person Early Voting.
3) In-Person Voting on Election Day.

Before answering, the key is to MAKE SURE YOU VOTE and to make sure your friends and family members vote.

Some people may be tempted to sit this election out because of the virus, thinking that their vote does not matter. It does.

The choice between me and my opponent could not be more clear.

He supports the protests, while I support law, order, and safety. He votes with Nancy Pelosi, while I vote for fiscal responsibility, freedoms, and common sense. He actually lives outside of the district, while I live, work, and raise my family in the district.

Would you help your neighbors, co-workers, and friends to know about the difference between me and my opponent? If you are able, start talking about this congressional race now.

Absentee ballot applications have been sent to every voter in the state, which unfortunately includes many people who have moved or passed away years ago.  Personally, I think mailing those requests out was unnecessary, costly, and opens the election up to fraud, but at least the Board of Elections didn’t mail actual ballots everywhere like they did in the primaries.

Did you get an absentee ballot request form?  If not, maybe you aren’t registered to vote where you live, please go here to register to vote or re-register at your address.

Do you want to vote by absentee ballot?  If so, please fill out the forms they sent you or go online here for step-by-step instructions to fill out the request electronically.  If voting this way, you may want to turn your ballot in at one of the early voting locations where they have secure drop boxes for your ballot.  This would avoid the postal service and guarantee that the Board of Elections receives your ballot.

Early voting will be held across the state from 7 AM to 8 PM from October 26th through 2nd, including weekends. The locations will be the same as in the primary elections.  For the locations in District 6, please go here.

Election Day voting will also be taking place on November 3rd, from 7 AM to 8 PM.   I will post these sites on the neilparrott.org website as we get closer to the elections.

The State Board of Elections have also decided to allow ballot collection and counting to start one month before the election. This decision will create chaos and allow Maryland’s election to be questioned. Current law already allows sufficient time to count and validate all votes, without allowing ballot canvassing one month before the election and should not be changed even with the ongoing pandemic.

The danger of allowing election results to current office holders or candidates is unprecedented and goes against everything this nation was founded on. We need to have fair and legal elections, and voters deserve to have confidence in our democratic election process. I, along with my fellow Delegates Dan Cox, Wendell Beitzel, Warren Miller, and Joseph Boteler, have sent a letter to Maryland’s State Board of Elections Supervisors asking them to comply with current law regarding precinct access and post-election validation of votes.

Maryland just entered Phase 3 – What does that mean?  Unfortunately, not much.  Here is a list of what’s changing:

  • Movie theaters and live entertainment venues can reopen at 50% capacity, or up to 100 people at indoor venues and 250 at outdoor venues.
  • Churches may increase capacity from 50% to 75%.
  • Retail locations may increase capacity from 50% to 75%.

What hasn’t changed:

  • Indoor dining is still limited to 50% capacity.
  • Personal services are still at 50% capacity.
  • Senior Centers are still closed.
  • No change in the mask requirements.
  • Local governments still have discretion regarding implementation.

I hope this information is helpful to you.

There is so much at stake in this election.

I ask that you make sure you vote so that we can bring common sense to DC.  Would you be willing to give towards our mission of bringing real representation to DC and replacing Nancy Pelosi as Speaker? Also, we need all the help we can get in these last 49 days, would you be able to volunteer from home or in person? If you drive in Montgomery, Frederick, Washington, Allegany, or Garrett counties, would you put a bumper sticker on your back window?

Please click the buttons below to help.  This past weekend I was out door knocking with friends, and I would love your help. This election can be won, but it will take the help of many people to help highlight the differences between me and my opponent. Whether financial or physical, every effort is greatly appreciated.
