President Trump’s Accomplishments

I recently participated on a committee that committee that produced on a handout of the Top Ten accomplishments of the Trump Administration.

Before I go through these Top Ten accomplishments chosen by the committee, please understand there are so many important results accomplished by this administration, that choosing ten was the most difficult part of the process. But we wanted one sheet to use as people go door to door, something easy to hand out to people who ask what he has done, and to have something to hand out at the polls when people ask questions as they come to vote…. It amazes me when I work at the polling places how many people ask about candidates and have not yet made up their minds on Election Day. If you want a comprehensive list of President Trump’s Accomplishments, Go to Promises Kept

Listed below are the 10 most important current accomplishments determined by the committee. After the list please find explanations of each accomplishment and references on each topic

TRUMP   TOP 10

President Trump & the American people built the strongest economy of all time and together we are rebuilding it!

 1) Saving Lives through Accelerated COVID-19 Vaccine Development: As part of Operation Warp Speed, President Trump has funded the expedited production and nationwide distribution of a free COVID-19 vaccine by January 2021 for all Americans.

2) Bringing Jobs Back! 11.4 million Americans were hired in three months after COVID-19 hit our country.

3) Supporting Safe School Re-openings: President Trump is encouraging schools to reopen safely and empower parents to make decisions about their children’s education.

9) Securing the Border: President Trump has greatly enhanced border security resulting in decreased drug and gang activity, and reduced human and sex trafficking across our Southern Border.

10) Advancing Religious Freedom: Using every tool available, President Trump has worked tirelessly to hold oppressive foreign regimes accountable for persecuting religious minorities, while firmly standing for religious assembly here in America.

Let me start with this thought:  When we vote for a president, we do not want pretty words, we want results.  President Trump told us what he was going to do (he thought that was important for voters to know what he plans to do). He made promises and delivered on his promises producing tremendous results. Many believe he has accomplished more for this country than any president in our lifetime….  following is more detailed information on each of the Top Ten Accomplishments.

President Trump has been an outstanding leader through the whole pandemic. He was the first to restrict travel from China and then from countries in Europe.

After the economic shutdown he held daily press conferences with top medical advisors to keep the American Public informed of the progression of the disease and the steps taken to help fight the pandemic.

Even before Operation Warp speed, the president provided military medical ships to NY for extra beds and had additional facilities built in Madison Square Garden.

Operation Warp Speed is his latest weapon on the horizon for fighting Corona virus. We felt it is the most important current weapon the President is using in his fight against the virus.

Through this expedited process new treatments are also being developed and they are being used to fight the disease.

It appears a vaccine will be available for distribution by the end of the year and into early next year.

This will get America safely back on track.

In September, the unemployment rate declined by 0.5 percentage point to 7.9 percent. The number of unemployed persons fell by one million and is now down to 12.6 million.

In September, 661,000 jobs were added to the economy bringing the September unemployment rate below market expectations. This marked the 5th straight decline after April’s all-time high of 14.7 percent..

Remember, the before Covid the average jobless rate for several months had been 3.5% the lowest unemployment rate ever.

From manufacturing medial equipment to providing guidelines for opening the economy this has been a giant comeback for our economy while many people are still isolated in their homes.

The President has said: “We believe many school districts can now reopen safely, provided they implement mitigation measures and health protocols to protect families, protect teachers, and to protect students.”

Because Children are at an extremely low risk for a serious illness or death from COVID-19, President supports the resumption of in-person schooling, American children need to get back to the classroom The harm to children in keeping schools closed outweighs the risks of safe reopening of in-person classes both for the children and working parents, many of whom have to stay home when schools fail to reopen.  Virtual learning disproportionally harms the education of lower income children.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has provided comprehensive guidelines to schools on how to protect and identify high-risk individuals, prevent the spread of the virus, and conduct safe in-person teaching. And the President has called for Congress to pass $105 billion to provide financial assistance and incentives to help schools implement safety measures in their resumption of in-person classes.

  • Handling China: President Trump acted swiftly to protect the USA from COVID-19 by restricting air travel from China in January. President Trump is also utilizing the Defense Production Act to manufacture much-needed medical supplies in the USA, reducing our dependence on foreign nations.

Safety of the American people is of utmost concern to President Trump. It is the reason the President acted so swiftly in restricting travel from China and then from countries in Europe.

Made in the USA has also been a constant theme of this administration and never has it been more important than during this China caused pandemic. President Trump understands this country is at war with an invisible enemy. With this understanding he has invoked the Defense Production Act The Defense Production Act was written to promote national defense and emergency preparedness.

In the case of COVID -19, this act is evoked to conduct protection by addressing biological threats within the United States and to reducing vulnerability to them.

Using the Defense Production Act we can expedite and expand the supply of needed materials and services from the U.S. industrial base to fight this enemy.

President Trump used the World Trade Organization (WTO) dispute process to confront China’s discriminatory technology licensing practices.

  • Keeping Communities Safe: Law & order and emergency services safeguard our free society, and President Trump is protecting communities and federal buildings when some city leaders’ refuse to stop violent mobs.

While radical left-wing politicians have fought to open borders and welfare for illegal aliens, President trump’s administration has fought for safe streets.  We want security for our people.  We want the rule of law.  We want law and order. The administration engaged in an all-out campaign to destroy MS-13, a vile and evil gang of people. Took MS13 members out by the thousands and arrested and indicted dozens of MS-13 leaders across the country.

The recent violence in our streets has been a source of much frustration and fear to most law abiding Americans. The president has the authority to protect Federal properties anywhere in the country and he has evoked emergency services to protect federal buildings.

But we live in a Republic and one of our most important Amendments is the tenth Amendment which states:

The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the states, are reserved to the states respectively, or to the people.

The President of the United States cannot send troops into a state without permission of that state. President Trump has repeatedly offered to send in the National Guard to stop the non-peaceful uprisings. This offer has been accepted by more than one city.  When his offer is accepted his rapid deployment of troops causes turmoil to cease almost immediately.

  • Negotiating Fairer Trade Agreements. Effective July 1, 2020, President Trump is creating more US manufacturing jobs and empowering our economy by replacing NAFTA with USMCA

One difference is the Regional Value Content. That means what percentage of material used in manufacturing under this agreement must be produced in one of the three countries.  Under NAFTA, only 62.5% of materials had to be “regional” under USMCA 75% of materials must be regional  – not purchased from other countries.

They also came up with more accurate ways of tracing and calculating the materials used.

Labor reforms are required so that Mexico’s wages cannot be so much lower than US and Canadian wages for producing goods under this trade agreement..

Under NAFTA, we had problems with Canada who had really high tariffs on our dairy, poultry and eggs. And under this

Under NAFTA, we had problems with Canada who had really high tariffs on our dairy, poultry and eggs. And under this under USMCA no country can be forced to store sensitive data on in-country servers of other countries

`Environmental requirements were difficult to enforce under NAFTA. The USMCA allocated $600 million to address environmental issues.

Did you know that before this act the prison population in the US was to the highest in the world 7% higher than the next highest nation? We incarcerate more people per capita than Iran, Russia, and even China.

While liberty is one of the most critical and central concepts that Americans hold dear, we are also aware we have responsibilities, so we accept that, when people make choices to commit crimes, they must pay for their crimes.

In the 1980s politicians decided that because crack cocaine became such a major issue there needed to be stricter penalties for drug crimes. They determined that if the punishment were extreme enough, it would act as a deterrent. So they created penalties that a judge and jury couldn’t circumvent.

As a result, an entire generation of people were locked away for decades — often for first-time and non-violent offenses. This did not lower the crime rate and it did not address the underlying issues that had jailed the people in the first place – thus almost guaranteeing re-incarceration of prisoners after they were released.

In December of 2018, the President signed the FIRST STEP Act into law, taking the first steps needed to correct a serious injustice in our country.

FIRST STEP stands for “Formerly Incarcerated Reenter Society Transformed – Safely Transitioning Every Person.”

Its goal is to give deserving prisoners the opportunity to get a shortened sentence for positive behavior and to give them job training. The act also restores to judges and juries their Constitution power of sentencing. This ensures that a 19 year old offender without a criminal history won’t be locked away for life for a minor mistake.

The FIRST STEP Act incentivizes prisoners to take part in evidence-based training programs specifically targeted at increasing opportunity once they are released. In conjunction with other programs, it ensures that an inmate simultaneously earns a lighter sentence and when released, the inmate will be far more likely to simply become a productive member of society, as opposed to winding up back in the system.

It costs over $36,000.00 to detain each inmate. If you can accomplish inmate rehabilitation without incurring that much cost, why wouldn’t you?

This law is not just about the prisoners themselves. It’s about the communities those inmates live in when they go home. It’s about families and schools.

  • Lowering Prescription Drug Costs. President Trump signed executive orders creating discounts on insulin and EpiPens, allowing importation of prescription drugs from other countries, and ensuring that Americans pay the lowest price available for Medicare Part B drugs.

On July 24th 2020, using executive orders, President Donald Trump took historic action to deliver lower prescription drug prices to American patients. The orders on drug pricing directed the Secretary of Health and Human Services (HHS) to take steps to deliver lower costs on prescription drugs for American patients. The President’s efforts to cut drug costs are about making drugs affordable for American patients.

  1. Ends a shadowy system of kickbacks pharmaceutical companies use to bribe doctors to prescribe their products to more patients, sometimes for longer periods of time or in higher dosages. American seniors will now directly receive these kickbacks as discounts in Medicare Part D.
  • 28 million patients visit federally qualified health centers. This ensures that the medically underserved patients that purchase insulins and epinephrine from those centers will have the savings from discounted drug prices directly passed on to them.
  • Allows states to develop safe importation plans for certain prescription drugs.
  • Authorize the re-importation of insulin products made in the United States if the Secretary finds re-importation is required for emergency medical care.
  • Creates a pathway through the use of individual waivers to purchase imported drugs at lower cost from pre-authorized U.S. pharmacies.
  • Takes action to ensure that the Medicare program and seniors pay no more for drugs than any economically comparable country, ending foreign countries’ free loading off the backs of American taxpayers and pharmaceutical investments.

9) Securing the Border: President Trump has greatly enhanced border security resulting in decreased drug and gang activity, and reduced human and sex trafficking across our Southern Border.

That effort is now well underway, with his administration aiming to have completed 450 miles by the end of 2020. As of late-June, 216 miles of new primary and secondary border wall had been built since January 2017 when the president came into office

An additional 339 miles is under construction, and 183 miles in pre-construction.

The current wall is 30 foot high. It consists of large metal posts, with anti-climb technology at the top of it. Officials note too that there is lighting, roads and secondary barriers nearby as well — which makes it fundamentally different from other structures.

  • Advancing Religious Freedom: Using every tool available, President Trump has worked tirelessly to hold oppressive foreign regimes accountable for persecuting religious minorities, while firmly standing for religious assembly here in America.

On June 20th of this year president Trump signed an executive order that recognized Religious freedom is America’s first freedom and it is a moral and national security imperative.  Religious freedom for all people worldwide is a foreign policy priority of the United States, and the United States will respect and vigorously promote this freedom.

There will be a budget of at least $50 million per fiscal year for programs that advance international religious freedom….

The United States will develop a plan to prioritize international religious freedom in the planning and implementation of United States foreign policy and in foreign assistance programs.

Such programs should prevent and respond to attacks against individuals and groups on the basis of their religion. Programs will be designed

  • to help ensure that religious groups can persevere as distinct communities
  • to promote accountability for the perpetrators of attacks
  • to ensure equal rights and legal protections for individuals and groups regardless of belief
  • to improve the safety and security of houses of worship and public spaces for all faiths; and
  • to protect and preserve the cultural heritages of religious communities.

International Religious Freedom shall be integrated into United States Diplomacy. Mission Chiefs in countries that have engaged in or tolerated violations of religious freedom must develop comprehensive action plans

  • to inform and support the efforts of the United States
  • to advance international religious freedom and
  • to encourage host governments to make progress in eliminating violations of religious freedom.
  • and to raise concerns about international religious freedom and cases that involve individuals imprisoned because of their religion.
