Direct Line w/Del. Morgan and Del. Arikan

Direct Line w/Delegate Matt Morgan, LD-29A & Delegate Lauren Arikan, LD 7b

Tonight our guest is State Delegates Matt Morgan of St. Mary’s County and Lauren Arikan from Harford County will give us the good, the bad, and the ugly of the past Legislative Session

Del. Matt Morgan was born just outside of La Plata, Maryland, and have lived in Southern Maryland my entire life. Much of my childhood was spent working with my Dad on our family-owned tobacco farm. I attended public school and graduated from McDonough High School in 1992.

Auto racing was a big part of my life. I grew up around racing and watched my father drag race professionally throughout the country. I started racing myself when I was 15, winning the High School Championship at MIR. After high school, I successfully won locally and nationally at many NHRA and IHRA events. This was highlighted in 2005, when I competed in 9 drag races and 13 dirt races, making multiple trips ranging between Canada, Illinois, North Carolina, and Ohio.

Del. Lauren Arikan lives with her husband and four children in Jarrettsville, Maryland on their 8-acre farm. They raise poultry, cattle and dairy goats. Together with her husband, the Arikan’s own and manage an accounting and staffing firm, Arikan Accounting. Lauren also owns and operates an investment company, Arikan Investments, that manages rental properties.

As a member of the Harford and Baltimore County Republican Women’s Clubs and the Maryland Federation of Republican Women, Lauren understands that there is a need to have more conservative voices in Annapolis fighting for our values. In 2015, Lauren and her husband created Love Maryland PAC to help combat legislation in the Maryland General Assembly that sought to infringe on parental rights and medical autonomy. She wants to make Maryland a great place for families to raise their children and retire. She has spent the last several years regularly testifying in Annapolis against legislation that harms parental rights to help ensure situations like the Charlie Gard case, that made international news, will not happen to families in Maryland.
