Maryland Young Republicans Win YRNF 2019 Most Outstanding Event of the Year
Congratulations to the Maryland Young Republicans
This past weekend, members of the Young Republican National Federation convened for their quarterly meeting in Jackson Hole, Wyoming for the first time in person in over a year. The Spring Awards for 2019 were presented at the culminating dinner on Saturday, November 14th. The Maryland Young Republicans received the YRNF 2019 Most Outstanding Event of the Year for their MDYR Roast Dinner Honoring MDGOP Chairman Dirk Haire.
“This recognition is a testament to the work our Maryland Young Republicans put into this fantastic event,” said Maria Sofia, Chairman of the Maryland Young Republicans. The event was a sold-out dinner and the best fundraiser the Maryland Young Republicans have had in over a decade.
YRNF Chairman Rick Loughery presented the award with Vice-Chair Lila Nieves-Lee. “In a world filled with your typical political events, The Maryland Young Republicans event was innovative, unique, and most importantly fun! As Young Republicans, our mission is to engage young people and introduce them to the Republican Party in a way that gets them active and excited to help. This event did just that and was highly deserving of being named as the Young Republican National Federation’s Most Outstanding Event of 2019,” said YRNF Chairman Rick Loughery.
Looking ahead to our next Roast Maryland YR National Committeeman Evan Young had this to say about the award and the next Roast. “Getting this award was a great recognition of our inaugural Roast in 2019, but now we need to raise the bar higher as we look forward to the National Award Winning MDYR Roast in 2021.”
The 2020 Roast was canceled due to COVID-19 but will be rescheduled to be held sometime in Spring 2021.
