Harold C. Maldonado for County Council – Councilmanic District – 7

Harold C. Maldonado emigrated to the US from Bolivia with his family in the 1980s and has lived in Montgomery County ever since; first in Silver Spring and then in Gaithersburg, he is a husband, father, and a businessman. He attended Woodlin Elementary School, Sligo Middle School, and graduated from Albert Einstein High School with honors.
Harold is the first member of his family to go to college. He graduated from The Catholic University of America with a degree in Economics and continued his academic studies, obtaining a Master’s degree in Economic Development overseas.
“I think the field of economics is one of few that best deals with economic and financial inequality. I’ve seen the effects of wrong policies implemented by governments and I see that in our county where the County Council has shamefully supported big-box corporations during the pandemic and arbitrarily close down small- and medium-sized businesses, which I might add are mostly owned by minorities. That’s not fighting for racial and economic justice if you ask me.”- Harold C. Maldonado, August 2022
