Direct Line w/Blanquita Cullum
We are joined this evening with The Hon. Blanquita Cullum is President and co-founder of Voices Against Trafficking. She is the host of The Hard Question program. Recently, she was inducted into the Texas Radio Hall of Fame and was the 2020 recipient of the “Sammy” Award for her “outstanding contributions and achievements of a Trailblazing Female Broadcaster.” She has broadcast all over the world Cullum is a former Governor on the Broadcasting Board of Governors, which oversees all U.S. international broadcasting. She was presidentially nominated, senate confirmed and served for eight years during the George W. Bush administration as the first Hispanic woman to serve on the Board.
Cullum, the former president of the National Association of Radio Talk Show Hosts, has appeared on nearly every major television and radio show throughout the country and has broadcast from every continent. She has interviewed world leaders, politician, rebels, celebrities, experts and more.
Cullum is the annual host of the National Memorial Day Parade in Washington, D.C. Her work has garnered multiple commendations and awards, including being the subject of a Doonesbury cartoon, being named one of the “Top 25 Talk Hosts” in the country by USA Today, and being honored as a champion of media by the Multicultural Media Association.
She is the proud mother of two children and grandmother to four darling grandchildren.
