Turning Point

Have we reached a turning point in America, the point where we must decide whether we are going to be a Judeo-Christian and free country or a secular and statist country?

As citizens we are going to have to face the fact that we cannot go on like this; the culture war and the war on citizenship is destroying our country and particularly our middle class as well as the fundamental founding principles and eternal truths that this country was built on.

The United States is the only country in the world that, to this point, has pulled off the integration of a multitude of races, cultures and beliefs into a unified country, E Pluribus Unum”.

Yet, we are in the process of destroying those bonds by ignoring the principles of our founding. Our founders were very clear, that a country cannot exercise freedom and self-government without citizens that are instilled with a virtuous and moral framework. As stated so clearly by James Madison, “If there is no virtue among us, we are in a wretched situation. No theoretical checks, no form of government, can render us secure. To suppose that any form of government will secure liberty or happiness without any virtue in the people, is a chimerical idea. If there be sufficient virtue and intelligence in the community, it will be exercised in the selection of these men; so that we do not depend upon their virtue, or put confidence in our rulers, but in the people who are to choose them.”

However, the people, the “citizens”, that choose our leaders are fast being overwhelmed by mere “residents” the 12-22 million who are in this country illegally. To many they have blurred the line between what is a citizen and what is a mere resident. This “multiculturalism” that has evolved in this country from the enormous influx of both legal and illegal residents convinces them that they don’t have to share any core American values or assimilate in any way to understand and live our values. Non-assimilated Residents have no allegiance to this country, nor do they have any appreciation or real investment in our history, particularly the Judeo-Christian heritage which forms the basis of our system of laws.

President Trump has been the great “disrupter” of this declining system and the political class along with their lawyers, lobbyists and hangers-on do not like it. They do not want someone disrupting their gravy train, and have done anything in their power to get rid of him. This has put us at a critical juncture, similar to the 1850s when Abraham Lincoln sited scripture and declared “we just cannot do this anymore.”

Because so many have turned away from America’s founding principles, absolved themselves of personal responsibility, and expect government to solve their problems and, the fact that the “ruling class” does not want to give up its power to rule over this disintegration, President Trump has forced us to a moment of decision about our future. What role will we play in this decision to save our Republic?
